The thyroid creates the hormones T4 and T3 to control metabolism. These hormones work throughout the body to tell the body’s cells how much energy to use. They control the body temperature and heart rate. Thyroid hormones help control growth, cell repair, and metabolism.
When thyroid doesn’t work properly, it can impact the entire body. As a result, people with hypothyroidism may experience tiredness, hair loss, weight gain, feeling cold, and feeling down.
